FREE - No RSVP required
Join the AFG and Greenwich town officials for one of our most beloved traditions: the raising of the French flag at Town Hall in honor of Bastille Day! We'll gather to hear First Selectman Fred Camillo read a proclamation, watch the raising of the flag, sing together the French and American national anthems, and enjoy a petit déjeuner catered by Meli Melo!
Bastille Day commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, a turning point in the French Revolution that marked the end of the monarchy and the birth of the French Republic. Each year, the Alliance Française of Greenwich joins chapters worldwide in honoring this historic day and promoting French language and culture as part of its global mission.
