Reed Lecture Conversation
Conversation is among the most treasured elements of French culture.
The "Reed Lecture-Conversation" allows members to improve their vocabulary and pronunciation in a casual atmosphere. Each group member reads a French text aloud, then the group discusses the text together in order to improve understanding and expression of the language. Lead by a native French speaker, "Lecture-Conversation" meets on the third Tuesday of the month. All meetings are scheduled on the main floor conference room of the Byram-Shubert branch at 1:00 p.m. |

Les Causeries
Topic-driven "Causeries" invite members to practice comprehension of written text and spoken language among native and non-native speakers.
Before each meeting, the group receives an article on a current event written in French. During meetings, native speakers lead breakout groups to foster a better understanding of the intricate French language.
Held the second Monday of each month at 1:30pm at the Cos Cob Library
